Topkapi Palace in Istanbul

     ENG. When we were in Istanbul, we walked around the city during the whole day. Recently, looking through articles, I understand that the place where we walked almost half of the day was Topkapi palace. Only now I have a perception that this huge part of the city is the palace consisting of 20 buildings located in four yards. (at those time it was partly closed for reconstruction, and some buildings were closed). I remember plates signed "Topkapi palace. Avlu 1 (2,3 or 4), but I could not translate it into Russian language. It turned to be four entries from different locations, into four yards (Avlu can be translated as "yard"). It is very big area (but we think that this was a park :-)).

      RUS. Когда мы были в Стамбуле, то целый день гуляли по городу. Недавно, просматривая статьи, я осознаю, что местом, где мы гуляли почти пол-дня, был дворец "Топкапы". Только сейчас ко мне приходит понимание того, что эта огромная часть города - это был дворец состоящий из 20 помещений в четырех дворах (в то время он был на реставрации, и некоторые помещения были закрыты). Помню, что я видела надписи "Topkapi. Avlu 1 (2,3 or 4), но никак не могла перевести на русский язык что это. Как оказалось, это четыре входа с разных сторон, в четыре двора (Avlu с турецкого переводится как "двор"). Это очень большой дворец (а мы думали что это какой-то парк :-) )
